Welcome Family and Friends to the 2017-2018 School Year!! We are looking forward to a great year filled with lots of Indian Pride, growth, and fun. L. P. Vaughn Elementary Mission:

Our mission at L. P. Vaughn Elementary School is to partner with parents and the community in developing the skills and character necessary for our students’ success academically and socially in society. We are committed to excellence in teaching and learning for all students. We will show this commitment by providing effective instructional practices as well as a quality and safe learning environment for our students. L. P. Vaughn Elementary School stresses the total development of each child: social, moral, intellectual, emotional, and physical.

School of Fine Arts:

Our L.P. Vaughn School of Fine Arts and the L.P. Vaughn Elementary School will be hosting a “Dinner Theater on November 9, 2017 at 5:30 P.M. Tickets are now on sale at the school office at 1500 Gold Street and from select teachers. Tickets are $25.00 a person or $35.00 for a couple.

Our special guest speaker will be Dr. King David Godwin, the Dean of the Grambling State Theater and Performing Arts of Grambling State University. He will be bringing students from his university to perform.

In addition to the dinner theater, the School of Fine Arts are also securing sponsorships from businesses and corporations in the community. Gold Sponsorships are $5,000.00, Silver, $1,000.00, and Bronze Sponsorships $200.00.

The School of Fine Art is in its 4th year as an after-school program. Students receive a $150.00 scholarship while paying $30.00 for ten weeks of lessons. Scholarships are available for all Natchitoches Parish Public Schools. Registration begins November 13th for L.P. Vaughn students and December 4th for other parish public schools.

Music teacher, Danny Von Kanel is the director of the School of Fine Arts.
